First Aid At Work

Overview

This three day, trainer-led course is designed for those who are first aiders in the workplace. Highfield is the leading provider of regulated compliance qualifications in the UK, certificating 350,000 learners a year. This qualification meets the specifications for training emergency first-aiders in those companies that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment. Courses are delivered by our experienced tutors, who are practical, matter-of-fact, and hands-on in their approach.

At the end of the course learners will be able to understand how to treat a patient who:

- is unresponsive and breathing

- is unresponsive and not breathing, including how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED)

- is choking

- is bleeding

- is suffering from shock

- has burns

- feels faint

- has been poisoned

- has a head injury

- has hypothermia or heat exhaustion

- has an injury to a bone, muscle or joint (including spinal injuries)

The course will also contain information about assessing and monitoring a casualty, where to get help, and dealing with electrical incidents.

Recognised by OFQUAL, the CCEA and Qualifications Wales, the Highfield certificate given upon completion of this course is initially valid for three years, after which time a refresher course must be undertaken.

  • To attend this course you are required to have completed a short pre-requisite quiz, this will be distributed to you prior to the course start date. Please bring a form of photo identification on the day of your training course. Please also inform the Greenlight team of any allergies/preferences, as lunch will be provided.
