Cat & Genny Training (Detection of Buried Services)

Overview

The Cable Avoidance Tools training course (sometimes referred to as CAT training) instructs delegates on how to detect and trace underground services and use cable avoidance tools appropriately and in line with recognised safe working practices.

Gain an understanding of:

  • Detecting and tracing underground services

  • Regulations and safe working practices

  • How to use cable avoidance tools

  • How to use a “Genny”

  • How to carry out a function test

  • Identification of cable avoidance tools and signal generators

  • Reasons for using locators

Key Information

  • This course is half a day in duration.

  • To attend this course you are required to have completed a short pre-requisite quiz, this will be distributed to you prior to the course start date. Please bring a form of photo identification on the day of your training course. Please also inform the Greenlight team of any allergies/preferences, as lunch will be provided.
